Carly and Jacob were SUCH a pleasure to work with! From their engagement session at Bethesda Fountain and Terrace in Central Park to their beautiful, outdoor private estate wedding, it was a joy. Their wedding was a classic mix of prep and elegance. They had originally planned on getting married at a country club in October, but because of COVID decided last minute to move their wedding up a month to September and shift the reception to Carly’s family home in New Jersey.
They brought in a number of tents with gauze and chandeliers to transform her parents backyard, complete with a custom made gingham picture wall (designed and built by one of their guests) and Delft jars to honor their Dutch heritage. Carly & Jacob opted to do a first look at Dey Mansion and brought in a vintage Rolls Royce for their trip to the church for the ceremony. Jacob wore velvet “I Do” shoes, Carly included her grandmother’s pin on her bouquet, and they opted for a key lime pie cutting rather than a wedding cake. They also incorporated their personalized monogram throughout the day – from their wedding invitation suite to the napkins to the custom monogram decal on the dance floor.
But beyond all these details, Carly and Jacob’s day was full of love, joy, and so many emotional moments that I was so grateful to capture! From Jacob’s tears as Carly walked down the aisle to their exuberant moments on the dance floor (and dress change!), this wedding was so inspiring to shoot!
