When COVID began, I started receiving so many inquiries for elopements and micro weddings. So Ana Luiza Weddings and I wanted to create a Brooklyn Bridge elopement editorial that spoke to those couples. Our focus for this shoot was to embrace this iconic landmark and reimagine the way in which a couple could celebrate their wedding day with a private sailboat tour along the river. Our couple, Madeline & Teddy, live in Brooklyn and also had to postpone their wedding day celebration. So this was a beautiful way for them to celebrate their marriage.
For this elopement, we choose a chic, white jumpsuit for our bride and classic navy suit for our groom. The florals by Nava Floral were lush and romantic and provided a stunning asymmetrical frame for the skyline views on the sailboat. Sweet Garden Creations created an assortment of celebratory desserts and stationer Ayla Peña designed an entire invitation suite centered around a hand sketch of the Brooklyn Bridge. We also featured a unique ring and wedding band set from Victor Barboné Jewelry, a private ceremony on Pebble Beach, and a calligraphed Shakespearean love poem by Leslie and Paper. Our model bride is an opera singer and actress, so including artistic touches and Shakespeare felt even more fitting to our overall design. We hope this inspires couples to be creative during this unpredictable time and see that their wedding celebration can be beautiful no matter how intimate!
