This Nantucket engagement session captured everything Ashley and Taylor love about the island! Ashley’s family has a home there and the two are planning a wedding at The Wauwinet for next September with Handy & Dallaire Events. The couple wanted a photographer who doesn’t live near Nantucket to give the images a fresh perspective. It was a delight to join them for a spin around the island, capturing locations meaningful to them and Ashley’s family.
Coastal Chic Style
Ashley and Taylor each selected two outfits for the session, one “date night” look and one casual ensemble. Dressed in lightweight fabrics in a soft neutral color palette, they looked every inch the coastal chic couple. Ashley began the session in an ivory maxi dress with a strapless bodice and on-trend dropped waist, while Taylor wore coordinating ivory trousers paired with a white button-down shirt.
Then, the couple changed into comfortable outfits to explore Downtown Nantucket. Ashley wore a simple white tank top and jeans and draped an ivory sweater over her shoulders for a touch of class. Taylor kept his attire simple too, opting for a white t-shirt and blue jeans paired with chocolate brown leather loafers.
Nantucket Engagement Session
What I loved most about Ashley and Taylor’s engagement session is that they made it their own. They asked me to photograph them in their favorite spots on the island so their session wouldn’t just be beautiful, but meaningful too! We visited Ashley’s first home on the island, her family’s current home, the lighthouse where Taylor proposed, and the couple’s favorite ice cream spot. The result was an authentic engagement session that captured Ashley and Taylor’s love for each other and their wedding location.
